Tonight was Dean Young's final reading as a Workshop faculty member. The reading took place at 8:00 PM in the Frank Conroy Reading Room in Dey House, which was (as you might expect) packed with students, faculty, alumni, and guests. Introductions were by Sam Chang and Jim Galvin. As a tribute, the Workshop presented Dean with an illustrated volume of Frank O'Hara's poetry.
Dean gave a wonderful performance of his work. The pieces he shared with the audience included these titles:

The reading ended with a standing ovation. I know you all join with me in wishing Dean a fond farewell from Iowa, and best wishes for the future.
